Udupi: According to sources, the Head of the Udupi Congress and Former State Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, is rumoured to be leaving the party. The Congress party’s High Command at both the State and national levels is doing everything possible to keep him in the party.
Pramod has not been to any of the party’s main events in the last few years. This has sparked speculation that he was planning to leave the party and join the BJP, which the leader repeatedly rejected. Local Congress leaders also submitted a report to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) leaders, requesting that Pramod be given a higher role within the party.
According to sources, KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar, the party’s State In-Charge Randeep Surjewala, and AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal called Madhwaraj recently and promised him a higher position within the party.
