Bengaluru:  AAP leader Sanjay Singh has filed a police complaint against former Minister and BJP leader K. Eshwarappa for allegedly saying that the saffron flag would one day become India’s national flag, and has demanded that he be arrested.

Eshwarappa reportedly said that the saffron flag has been respected for thousands of years and will surely become the national flag one day.

“I have filed a FIR against Eshwarappa for insulting the national flag by saying that the saffron flag will one day replace it as India’s national flag.”

The national flag has not been hoisted at the RSS headquarters for more than 50 years. The BJP, in fact, opposes the national flag, he said.

He went on to say that Eshwarappa should be arrested for his remarks.
