Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor and social activist Chetan on Tuesday objected to his name appearing in the “charge-sheet” released by the BJP against the Congress, in which he has been branded as the leader of Naxal-inspired struggle.
Speaking to media persons at the Press Club here, Chetan said that he was working for the rehabilitation of the people of Diddhalli and did nothing to be branded as leader of Naxal-inspired struggle. “ I am happy that because of my struggle, I was able to help in the rehabilitation of 3,000 refugees. I have worked legally, and I have not touched any armaments and my struggle is peaceful and non-violent,” he said.
He urged the BJP to delete the notion that Diddahalli struggle was a Naxalite-inspired one. “ I also seek an apology from Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa, failing which I have no alternative but to fight legally,” he said.
