Sandalwood trees stolen from residence of Chief Justice of Karnataka HC

Bengaluru: Thieves stole two sandalwood trees from the residence of Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Dinesh Maheshwari, on Monday night. A case has been registered in this regard on Thursday.

The incident comes as a big embarrassment for the city police as the residence of the Chief Justice is provided round the clock security.

According to the police sources, this incident created panic in the department as the residence of the Chief Justice is considered as high secured zone. “The whole area is under the police vigil round the clock. This issue has sent ripples in the department,” said an officer who wished to be unnamed.

“This is the second incident of sandalwood tree theft reported from the region in last 30 days. Recently Sandalwood trees were stolen from the AIR office near Raj Bhavan. We are verifying all the CCTV footage from entire region to find out the thieves,” informed a police officer.
