Security guard opens fire, one killed

Bengaluru: A security guard, posted at an under-construction building at Nagarabhavi II Stage, fired at a gang of three thieves who tried to steal electric wire, iron and other material from the site, killing one of them in the wee hours of Friday.
The police have identified the deceased as Bettaswamy (25), who succumbed to a single gunshot wound.

According to the police, the security guard, Mohan Kumar (28), hailing from Kodagu and working as a security guard for two years. The security guard  has claimed that he fired at the miscreant in self –defence.

According to the police,  Mohan Kumar, the security guard attached with the Veerabhadraswamy Security Services, has been posted at the under-construction building of JD(S) leader Javarayi Gowda for over two years now.
