Bengaluru: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief, a vocal critic of CM Siddaramaiah has now urged the party High Command to appoint Mallikarjun Kharge as the chief minister of Karnataka.
Sharief said that a change is leadership in Karnataka is a must, considering the fact that the party is losing its popularity in the state. The senior Congress leader said that the change is inevitable, given the ‘changing circumstances’ and ‘political uncertainty’ and further stress that the party has no option but to have Kharge as the CM to save the face of the party.
Taking on Siddaramaiah again, Sharief questioned when a man from another party can join Congress and become the CM, why traditional Congress leaders cannot be given an opportunity?
“There are other deserving candidates like Kharge and G Parameshwara,” he said.
