Bengaluru: The condition of Siddaganga Shiva Kumar Swamiji turned critical on Monday and the 111-year-old seer has been put on ventilator support early on Monday morning.
The Swamiji, who is revered as ‘incarnation of God’, underwent a procedure in a Chennai hospital recently and is being treated at the mutt itself.
As the condition of seer became critical, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and DCM Dr G Parameshwar rushed to Tumakuru. Police security has been tightened around the mutt.
Doctors treating the seer informed that he is suffering from breathing-related problems. As soon as the news of the falling health condition of the Swamiji spread, entire Tumkur District wore a deserted look.
All the institutions run by the Siddaganga Mutt remained closed on Monday and a sense of undeclared bundh existed in the District. Securities across the District have been stepped up with over 5,000 additional police forces pressed into action. CM HD Kumaraswamy is expected to hold a press meet at about 2pm on Monday in this regard.
