Bengaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has been discharged from a private hospital in Malleswaram on Sunday, after spending four days in the hospital, receiving treatment for cardiac-related issues.
The former CM was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after he complained of severe chest pain. He underwent angiogram at the hospital.
After being discharged from the hospital, Siddaramaiah addressed a news conference and said that he had underwent a surgery in 2000 and over the last 19 years he did not have any cardiac problems.
“After the treatment I am fine again,” he said. He then thanked the team of doctors and the nursing staff who took care of him during his stay in the hospital and said that he has been asked to rest for one more week.
“After my rest period I will think about politics. I will not want to speak about it here,” he said.
Thanks to friends and ‘foes’
Asserting that there are neither friends nor foes in politics, Siddaramaiah made a special mention about all the leaders across the political spectrum who visited him in the hospital.
“Human bonds are more important than politics. That was evident as leaders from all the parties visited me and wished me speedy recovery,” he said.
It may be recalled that several BJP leaders including CM BS Yediyurappa, minister KS Eshwarappa among others visited the former CM during his stay in the hospital.
‘Haudu Huliya’
It may be recalled that during a recent public rally, a fan of Siddaramaiah had shouted out ‘Haudu Huliya’ while he was addressing the gathering.
The video had gone viral and on Sunday, as the former CM walked out of the hospital and sat in his car, fans shouted ‘Haudu Huliya’ and cheered for their leader. Siddaramaiah reciprocated with a smile and waved at his supporters.
