Bengaluru: State Revenue Minister R Ashok mocked former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by stating that he should be awarded a PhD for jumping parties. Siddaramaiah was earlier in the Janata Dal (Secular) party.
Speaking to ANI, the minister said that Siddaramaiah had never stayed in one party and that, at one point in time, he was even elected as an independent candidate, following which he joined the Janata Party and later, the JD(S) party.
“For having changed so many parties, Siddaramaiah should be given a PhD as he was famous for that”, said Ashok.
The state cabinet minister’s reaction was a counter to Siddaramaiah’s remark that the 15 MLAs who quit the Congress and JD(S) parties must be defeated as punishment for jumping from one political party to another.
