Bengaluru: The Animal Husbandry Department has issued an order on Friday April 1 making stunning mandatory before slaughtering animals.
The Department through an order has stated that stunning would be mandatory, failing which a fine between Rs. 50,000 to and Rs. 1 lakh will be levied.
Stunning is the process wherein the animal is made unconscious before it is slaughtered. However, this is considered against the principle of Halal.
