Bengaluru: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising Excon 2017, south Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition from December 12 to 16 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
The five-day exhibition would have 927 exhibitors including 275 companies from abroad. The event is expected to attract over 40,000 business visitors from across the globe.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises Anant G Geete would be the chief guest at the inaugural session of Excon 2017. Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure R.V. Deshpande, Niti Ayog Chief Executive Officer Amitabh Kant will address at the inaugural session amongst other dignitaries.
“The Indian construction equipment industry which peaked in 2011 went through a downcycle for four straight years from 2012 until 2015. This year as an industry, we will surpass our previous best year of 2011 with a growth of 14 per cent. The industry is headed for better days of a projected stable growth of 10 per cent CAGR over the next five years compared to seven percent in the previous decade,’’ said Vipin Sondhi, Chairman of CII Excon 2017.
As part of Excon, CII is organising an Infrastructure Summit on 12 December which will deliberate on the opportunities in infrastructure development through public private partnership. A CEOs Round Table Session is also organised which would have the participation of leading global and Indian CEOs in the infrastructure and construction sectors.
