Bengaluru: Following massive violence and protest at Honnavar over the death of BJP activist Paresh Mesta, the state government on December 13 has decided to hand over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said that the state government had decided to hand over the investigation of Paresh Mesta’s death to the CBI.
“Government has taken this decision after Paresh Mesta’s family members demanded for a CBI probe into death. And the government has not taken this decision on BJP’s demand or by yielding to their protests”, Reddy said.
He also said that the cause of death could be ascertained only after getting the postmortem report.
