State home minister Basavaraj Bommai also spoke to the media on a separate occasion and informed that the normalcy has returned to the state and that people are going about their daily lives.
It can be recalled that CM BSY met the kin of the deceased during his visit to Mangaluru on Saturday. He was in the city to assess the law and order situation after violence broke out during the anti-CAA protests on Thursday.
It can also be recalled that Jaleel (49) and Nausheen (23) died when police began firing at the protesters after violent clashes broke out between the police and the protesting public.
The incident sparked outrage with many accusing the police of using undue force, however, the Mangaluru city police continue to maintain that they were provoked into using deadly force.
