State govt sanctions Rs 10 lakhs to historical Suryanarayana temple

Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo on Monday handed over the sanction letter of Rs 10 lac to the committee members of historical Suryanarayana temple, Maroli.

The state government recently sanctioned Rs l0 lakhs for the development of the temple.

Lobo after handing over the letter, said that though it was a small temple but due to the efforts of the people of the region, it has grown to this extent. “The hardwork of the people from this region is commendable. When we are united, we can face any hardships and achieve anything, and it is shown by the people from this region. “

“Since it is a historical temple, the number of devotees has increased rapidly hence it is a sincere effort by the government to improve the road connectivity.”

Lobo was later felicitated by the temple committee members. Corporators Keshav Maroli, Bhaskar K, Asha D’silva, Prakash and temple committee members Balakrishna Kottary, K P Shetty, Giridhar Shetty and Ganesh Shetty were present.
