Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Parameshwara has said that the route to draw water from Linganamakki Reservoir to Bengaluru is being surveyed.
Speaking to media, Parameshwara said that there was only 80 ft of water in KRS dam which can be supplied to Bengaluru for only one month.
“There is shortage of water due to lack of rains. A detailed project report (DPR) is being made to draw water from Linganamakki to Bengaluru. A route passing through Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Vani Vilasa and Hesaraghatta has been identified to bring water to the city. The government will come up with a decision after it is confirmed that water can be brought from this route,” said Parameshwara.
