Bengaluru: The state transport department has resumed registration of two-wheelers below 100 CC. The registration process starts from Friday in all the RTOs of the state.

According to the officers, the registration process was stopped since October 23 following the state government directions that pillion riding will not be allowed in bikes less than 100CC. Even though the notification was withdrawn on October 25 itself, the registration process was not started till now.

According to the officers, registration was stopped to get a clear guidance from the state law department. “We allowed all the RTOs to register two-wheelers less than 100 CC from Thursday itself. But registration process is expected to start from Friday,” said a senior officer.

According to the officers, 30% of the vehicles registered in the state RTOs are two wheelers below the 100 CC capacity.
