Bengaluru: The stone-pelting incident at the Old Hubli Police Station was a pre-planned conspiracy, said Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “The violence in Hubballi erupted after derogatory comments about a certain community were made on social media. Following that, a mob gathered outside a police station began throwing stones at the station and police vehicles. Several people have been arrested, including the person who kept an objectionable WhatsApp status. No one will be spared.”

“Four police officers were injured, one of whom was an inspector. They have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Section 144 was imposed in the city by the officials. The situation is under control,” he added.
