Bengaluru: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah said that the State Government should take proactive measures to prevent injustice to the OBC electorate.
In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah stated that “The judgement by Hon. Supreme Court regarding the elections to local bodies is concerning. Elections, if conducted without waiting for the reservation for OBCs, will result in social injustice. OBCs will be denied of their political representation.”

He further stated that the scenario in Karnataka is different. “We already have Socio-Economic & Educational Census report ready with the govt. With these data, govt can formulate reservation policy at the earliest,” he added.
“This judgement will have the bearing on the elections to local bodies in Karnataka also. The State govt should immediately intervene & present our case to the Supreme Court. All party meetings should be convened to discuss the issue,” he wrote.
