Bengaluru: Police arrested three people for stabbing a person to death at Devasandra near KR Puram in Bengaluru during a Muharram procession organized at Little Bloom English High School playground. The police have identified the victim as Azmath Pasha, a resident of Tent Road at Mahadevapura.
The arrested have been identified as Suhail Pasha alias Wheel, Nayaz Pasha alias Bond and Khader, all residents of JC Layout at KR Puram. The police said the accused were under the influence of alcohol when they stabbed Azmath to death.
It is said that Azmath along with his brother had gone to attend the procession when his brother Sayyed Roshan stamped the leg of one of the accused persons by mistake. It led to a heated argument between Roshan and the accused persons. The police said the situation turned ugly when Azmath intervened and in the melee, slapped Suhail. It enraged Suhail who called his friend Khader and Nayaz. It is said that the trio attacked and overpowered Azmath while Suhail stabbed him and fled. Passersby rushed Azmath to a private hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Based on Roshan’s complaint, KR Puram police have arrested the three accused and remanded them to judicial custody.
