Bengaluru: Influenced by glorification of crime, violence and celebration of masculinity on screen, three minors stabbed a man to death on December 10, just to make a mark in the world of crime.
They were nabbed by the Chandra Layout police on Tuesday and during interrogation, the three juveniles, all below 16-years of age and all school dropouts have kept forth a shocking revelation that they killed an innocent man just because they wanted to create an aura of fear around them.
The mindset of the teenagers was such that they felt killing a man would make them ‘infamous’ and ‘notorious’ instantly and they could create fear psychosis, which would help them extort money from local residents riding.
With target clear in mind, during wee hours of Dec 10 the trio met a 40-year-old named Shivamadhu, who was a bicycle mechanic. The trio stabbed him to death. However, based on physical description of the three boys, given by Shivamadhu’s assistants who were witness to the crime, helped the police nab the three. The accused were placed in a government home for boys and the case has been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee.
It is said that the three are habitual offenders who have been involved in petty crime such as theft and robberies.
