Bengaluru: The timings for the prohibitory order on New Year has been revised to 12 pm on December 31 till 6 am on January 1.

The prohibitory orders have been revised. Sec 144 will be effective from 12 PM today (Dec 31) to 6 AM tomorrow (Jan 1, 2021).
Conditions/restrictions notified in the original order remain the same.

The revised order was sent by Police Commissioner Kamal Pant on the night of December 30. According to the previous order, the prohibitory order started from 6 pm on December 31 till 6 am on January 1.
All norms remain the same as per the old order except for a revision of the timings.
Police Commissioner Kamal Pant stated the order is a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the virus in the city during New Year celebrations.
Celebrating on public roads or gathering of five or more people publicly is strictly not allowed. Any form of gatherings in public places, roads, parks, grounds and open areas is completely prohibited.
Though, in house celebrations in residential places and private clubs is allowed. People who have booked a reservation at pubs, restaurants and other establishments can attend the parties.
It is the responsibility of such establishments to ensure safety measures like The safety measures like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and sanitisation are being enforced.
Under the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Act along with section 188 of the IPC and other relevant sections of the law, a case will be registered for anyone who violates the guidelines.
