Bengaluru: The Kannada and Culture department directed all the district administrations and the taluk administrations to celebrate Tipu Jayanti on November 10. An order in this regard has been issued by the office of the director, Kannada and Culture.
As per the directions, all the district and the taluk administrations have been directed to hold preparatory meetings to finalise the celebration plans.
“The Tipu Jayanti must be celebrated like previous years,” stated the order.
According to the sources, even though Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was not in favour of creating a controversy in the name of the Jayanti, the Congress insisted that the government continue with the celebrations.
