Bengaluru: According to the daily price list of Bengaluru’s Horticultural Producers’ Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society (HOPCOMS), the price of tomatoes has risen significantly to around Rs. 60/kg.
A week ago, tomatoes were sold for about Rs. 20/kg. The price increase is due to a shortage of supply, with some wholesalers anticipating that it will subside within a month. The situation is getting worse as a result of the rains.
According to HOPCOMS, the continuous rains in Kolar, Chintamani, and Hoskote over the past several weeks are to blamed and prices of other vegetables, such as onions, are expected to rise in the coming days.
