Bengaluru: In a controversial move, BMRCL has revised the timings for Namma Metro train on Sundays. Henceforth, Namma Metro service on both Green and PurpleLine services will start only at 8 am on Sundays. Until now the services were starting at 5 am.
According to BMRCL officials, a decision in this regard was taken based on the suggestions received from experts. “To take up the maintenance works of metro tracks and coaches, it has been decided to start the service at 8 am on Sundays. On all other days the service will resume at 5 am itself,” said an officer from BMRCL.
“Till the launch of Green Line, the last train on Purple line was at 10 pm. But now it is extended till 11 pm. It reaches its last destination on both the sides at 11.45. Same with Green Line. This has increased the pressure on the metro technical team,’ sources informed.
Meanwhile, on Sundays and other government holidays the frequency of Metro train on both tracks will be 15 minutes each. This frequency has been finalized based on the occupancy rate of passengers per trip.
