Bengaluru: As many as 71,000 teachers have applied for transfer from one school to another this time.
Among them, nearly 30,000 teachers are expected to get transfered.
This data has been shared by primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar.
Among these requests, 48,315 transfers have been sought within the district. This is the first time that the transfer process has been taken up on an app called Shikshaka Mitra.
“This time cap on transfer was increased from 5% to 11%. So, more number of applications were submitted,” he said.
According to the authorities, the entire process is expected to be completed by February.
“Another round of transfer process will be taken up in April-May to enable more teachers to join duty from the school of their choice,” explained Suresh Kumar.
