Bengaluru: An IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru witnessed a passenger being apprehended for smoking a beedi inside the aircraft’s restroom.
G. Karunakaran, who had boarded the flight from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on the night of September 3, caused a commotion shortly after takeoff. Passengers detected a burning odor emanating from the rear of the aircraft, specifically from the restroom. Karunakaran was discovered inside the restroom holding a matchbox and smoking a beedi while attempting to flush it. He promptly informed the flight captain of the situation.
The individual was swiftly escorted to the airport’s police station, where he was subsequently apprehended by the authorities.
