Staff on election duty deprived of breakfast, protest

Koratagere (Tumakuru) : The staff deployed on election duty cried foul when they were deprived of breakfast on May 11 morning.They were seen shouting slogans against the electoral officer for not making adequate arrangements and protested before departing from mustering centres.

Karnataka Congress President G Parameshwara is the candidate from this constituency. He had failed to win from here in the last assembly polls held in 2013.

Hotels offer Dosas and coffee free and  discounts to woo young voters

A hotel in the central area of Bengaluru is offering Dosas and coffee as freebies to woo young voters to polling booths. Speaking about the initiative, hotel owner P Krishanaraja said, “Bengaluru city records very low turn out during polls. This year many young voters have registered their names in the electoral rolls. It’s a simple attempt to woo young voters to polling booths to increase the voting percentage in the capital,” he added.

Another hotelier near Manyata Tech Park is offering 10% discount on food bills on the polling day.
