Tumakuru: A three-year-old boy’s private parts were burned as punishment for wetting his pants by an Anganwadi teacher and helper in Chikkanayakanahalli here.
The incident came to light when the boy’s grandmother saw burn scars on the child’s right lap and genital.
The family alerted the concerned authorities and District Child Protection Officer Pavithra rushed to the village.
A child counselor was sent to the child’s home to give counselling to the family and the child. The officials also apologised after sending a notice to the Anganwadi teacher and helper.
