Tumakuru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that SC Bhovi Community Development Corporation Chairman will be appointed in a week to ensure the proper use of funds worth Rs. 175 Crore. During his address, he highlighted the programmes his government has planned for the SC, ST, and OBC communities, including providing 75 free power units to poor SC families.
Bommai indirectly criticised the previous governments for engaging in appeasement politics. “They were speaking about social justice for almost twenty years, but practically did nothing,” he said.
He noted that for the SC/STs, some 100 hostels will be opened, including five huge buildings that can accommodate 1,000 students. Scholarships for students have also been made available. “I will work tirelessly to uplift the poor, reaching out to the last person,” he said.
