Tumakuru: ‘Citizen to be made aware of rights and duties’

Tumakuru: Every citizen of India needs to be aware of the law of the Constitution. Every citizen of the country should be made aware of the law and about their rights and duties. Koratagere JMFC Civil Judge J. N. Srinath said that the legal awareness Jatha programme is being held at the Gram Panchayat level from September 31 to November 13.

He was speaking at a free legal aid and counselling programme organised by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, Koratagere Legal Services Committee and Bar Association in Koratagere Town on Wednesday November 2. For the benefit of the poor people, legal awareness awareness is being conducted in every village from the national level through Gram Panchayats. Every citizen should be concerned about the benefits of free Legal Awareness Jatha, he said.

He informed, “Lok Adalat programme will be held on November 12 to settle cases through people’s courts and ensure speedy justice to the people.
