Tumakuru: In an incident under Shira Police Station limits in Tumakuru District, a headmaster has been booked under POCSO for alleged sexual harassment to a girl student.
According to complaint, the accused Mohammed Iqbal Avati working as a headmaster in Begum Mohalla Government Urdu Higher Primary School harassing girl students since about six months. The accused allegedly called a sixth standard student to his chamber under the pretext of special class, offered her Rs. 50 and misbehaved with the girl.
The girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police on Friday December 31. Police have arrested the accused and produced him before JMFC Court which has remanded him to 14-day judicial custody. Tumakuru DDPI Krishnamurthy has suspended the accused with an immediate effect.
