Tumakuru: An elderly woman died after her house collapsed due to heavy rains on the night of Wednesday October 12.
The deceased has been identified as Chowdamma (78), a resident of Tungoti Village here in Madhugiri. It is learnt that the elderly woman has family members who live in Bengaluru and other places. After the death of her husband, she lived alone in the house. She is also the grandmother of Manjula, the current Vice President of D. V .Halli Gram Panchayat.
Revenue officials and fire brigade personnel visited the spot and took out the body. A case has been registered at Madhugiri Police Station.
