Two PU students meet watery grave while taking selfies

Bengaluru: Two students drowned when they slipped while taking a selfie near a temple pond in Bannerghatta police station limits.

The police have identified the victims as Prashanth and Jeevan Kumar, second year students of Jyothi Central Pre University College, Yelachannahalli near JP Nagar. According to the police, both had gone on motorcycles with 12 of their friends to Bannerghatta Zoo on Tuesday morning. With the zoo was closed, the students decided to go to Suvarnamukhi temple on a nearby hill.

It was said both tried to take a selfie after a bath in the pond. While taking selfie, Prashant slipped into the water and Jeevan Kumar jumped into the pond to rescue him. The police said that both did not surface. The bodies were recovered later.
