Bengaluru: A few months ago, BJP state vice president and former state and Union minister V Srinivas Prasad had stated that he doesn’t want to see the face of his friend-turned-foe, former chief minister Siddaramaiah. But on Tuesday, December 18 evening, Prasad met his rival in Bengaluru and enquired about his health.
There is no clarity on what transpired between the two leaders during the meeting. Prasad has, however, informed the reporters waiting outside that the meeting was purely a courtesy call.
Prasad’s visit comes amidst reports that senior Congress leaders want a change in the party-state leadership. With the BJP leaders making a bee-line to meet Siddaramaiah, senior JD(S) and Congress leaders are keeping away from the former CM, not meeting him even for courtesy sake.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that a non-BJP, non-Congress and non-JD(S) alliance may form comprising several regional leaders who are unhappy with the functioning of these major parties.
