Bengaluru:  On Monday December 27, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that vaccination drives are being planned in schools to inoculate children aged 15 to 18, and that Primary Health Centres have been instructed to prepare for the administering of ‘precautionary dose’ to those over 60 years old with co-morbidities.

He also informed that the vaccination drive in schools will begin on January 3 and inoculation camps for eligible above 60-year-olds with co-morbidities will begin on January 10 as directed by the Centre.

CoWin’s Chief, Dr. R. S. Sharma, announced that children aged 15 to 18 will be allowed to register on the CoWIN app from January 1. He also stated that for registration, they have added an additional feature of a ID card (10th). He emphasised that they had this feature as many children may not have an Aadhar card or other form of identification with which to register.
