Bengaluru: Revelers end up driving vehicles under influence of alcohol during the New Year and with the aim of ensuring that no vehicle user falls off the flyovers while driving under the influence of alcohol, the city police have decided to ban vehicle movement on the city flyovers between December 31 noon and January 1 morning.
According to the sources in the city traffic police, vehicle movement on the flyovers of the city will be banned from 3 pm on December 31. The ban will continue till 6 am on January 1.
“Every year many drivers fall off the flyovers while driving due to over speeding under the influence of the liquor. To ensure that such incidents don’t repeat, this banning order will be imposed,” informed a traffic cop.
