Vijayapura Police bust illegal firearms trading network, seize 20 pistols

Vijayapura: In a massive search operation, the Vijayapura police succeeded in nabbing 12 notorious criminals involved in trading illegal firearms and seized 20 pistols during the raid.

Northern Zone Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ramachandra Rao disclosed the details at a press conference in Vijayapura and confirmed that both buyers and sellers were among those nabbed.

Police Circle Inspector C T Chandrakanth led the raiding team ably guided by Vijayapur SP Kuldip Kumar Jain during the last one month.

Around 30 personnel were involved in the raids. Additional SP Dr. Shivakumar too assisted the raiding team and helped in cracking the illegal arms trading network.

IG Ramachandra Rao lauded the efforts of policemen on the occasion.
