Bengaluru: Amid reports of state-wide protests by Muslim organisations against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the proposed NRC, schools and colleges will open their today. The semester examinations of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), that were to be held on Monday, will also continue as per the schedule.
According to the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioners of Bidar, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural etc.,
schools and colleges will open today. The DCs have also warned of stringent action against those who spread misinformation on social media about the schools being closed today.
Meanwhile, the police are on high alert in Bengaluru as several Muslim organisations are planning to hold a meeting. Additional security forces have been brought in from the neighbouring districts for the same. “The situation is tense, but calm across the state,” sources in the state police department said.
