We plan to have a reserve of 50000 NCC cadets at college level: CM Bommai

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday January 23 said the State Government will see to it that 7,500 new National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets are raised and their training expenses will be borne by the Government.

During an event to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the CM Bommai said that he would discuss with the senior IAS officials of the State to set up 75 NCC units in schools, and colleges to train 7,500 new NCC cadets. The State Government will bear the expense of Rs. 12,000 for each of the cadets,” he asserted.

A discussion with the Defence Ministry officials to revise the NCC programmes for school children who find it difficult will be held, said Bommai and added that there are 44,000 cadets in our schools, and the Government will shift them to the colleges as well so that we will have over 50,000 cadets in the colleges.
