Bengaluru: Former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi informed the State BJP unit has proposed 20 names to the party High Command, including his and Vijayendra’s, for the Legislative Council elections. Savadi’s tenure as MLC will end in June.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday May 15 he said, “We are disciplined party workers and will follow with the High Command’s decision.”

After Rizwan Arshad was elected to the Legislative Assembly seat from Shivajinagar constituency in a by-election held in December 2019, the then Deputy Chief Minister Savadi replaced him as MLC in 2020.

MLAs will vote for seven seats on the Council in a biennial election on June 3.
