Bengaluru: One department has become very active soon after Union government scrapped old notes of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denominations on November 8. Muzarai officials run to temples owned by their department in order to collect the cash which few devotees drop in petition boxes. Reports suggest an increase in collection amount post demonetisation.
But as the curtains almost came down on the note exchange in banks, Muzrai officials were in for a surprise when they went to empty the petition boxes at the famous Banashankari temple in Bengaluru. They found innumerable written petitions submitted to deity Banashankari.
Quick Round-up of Pleas!
Convert Illegal to Legal: “See mother, I have kept the photo of the girl who is sending lot of messages to my husband. Please ensure that this ‘demon’ stays away and instill some common sense in my husband. However, make sure that her phone calls do not reach my husband”.
Will Offer Chain: “Please make sure my husband listens to whatever I say and remains obedient. If you fulfill my desire I will offer you one chain”.
Solve parking fee problem: “I am fed up of paying parking fee and harassment by cops. They do not even spare us at your footstep and I may be left with nothing. Curse them and ensure all those who trouble me do not collect parking fee in future”.
Manju Remembers Kavya: “You know mother! Manju loves Kavya. We loved each other and parted ways. Please ensure Kavya remembers Manju and make sure she gets back to Manju. Deserted by Kavya and feeling lonely, Manju is pleading earnestly….”
Accept My Demand: “I need someone employed in government only as my husband. Banshankariamma, please assist me in finding one”.
Muzrai officials have noticed an increase in the number of such petitions in the recent past. However, they also found gold chains weighing 60-70 grams in total offered by different devotees who felt their petitions were answered by the deity.
One doesn’t know where those petitions reach but petitioners might have drawn little consolation by expressing their problems.
Muzarai officials and priests who went through the content in the petitions went for a spin in the temple premises for sure!
