Woman murdered for buying jewellery: Husband in judicial custody

Bengaluru: Police here have arrested the man who allegedly murdered his wife for buying jewellery with money meant for rent.

The accused has been identified as Sheikh Farooque (40), a resident of Dayanandanagar, Jayanagar here. The arrested after being produced before the court has been remanded to judicial custody.

As per reports, wife of Farooque, Naziya spent Rs. 6500 meant for the house rent on Monday November 1. However, Naziya bought imitation jewellery meant for sale out of the money. When Farooque became aware of this, he got angry and a quarrel ensued. In a fit of rage, Farooque hit Naziya and banged her head against the wall. Despite rushing her to hospital she passed away on Tuesday November 2 not responding to treatment.

Siddapura police have registered a case on complaint by Naziya’s mother.
