Bengaluru Woman Seeks Protection, Alleging Husband’s Coercion, Occult Rituals Involving Child

A Bengaluru woman has filed a complaint accusing her husband of harassment, coercion, and attempting to involve their young child in an occult ritual called “kutti pooja,” allegedly for wealth gain, as reported by India Today. Residing in KR Puram, she turned to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand for help after her initial complaint was reportedly dismissed by local police.

In her letter to Commissioner Dayanand titled, “Urgent complaint regarding non-acceptance of complaint by KR Puram Police Station,” the woman recounted her troubling experiences. She explained that her husband, Saddam, initially introduced himself as “Aadhi Eshwar” while they were colleagues at a courier company. The two married under Hindu customs, but she alleges he later coerced her into signing a “Muslim marriage certificate” and adopting a new name, claiming it would bring prosperity.

After the birth of their son, she claimed the situation worsened, with her husband allegedly demanding a ritual sacrifice of their child for financial benefit. Disturbed, she left with her child, seeking shelter with her family in Tumkur. Despite the move, she stated Saddam continued to harass her, even threatening her mother. His alleged involvement in late-night occult rituals added to her distress.

Frustrated by the KR Puram police’s inaction, she has now requested police protection and intervention from higher authorities.
