Bengaluru: As the ‘Rocking Star’ of Sandalwood actor Yash celebrates his 33rd birthday, the event became a witness to a fatal frenzy when one of his fan immolated himself right in front of the actor’s residence at Hosakerehalli, here on Tuesday, January 8.
Hundreds of Yash fans and followers had gathered outside his residence to convey their birthday wishes to their favourite star.
Yash had already said that he would not celebrate his birthday, as the veteran Sandalwood actor-politician Late Ambreesh had passed away recently. Yash felt it was not right to celebrate at this point in time.
Meantime, a fan named Ravi (26) had also reached Yash’s residence during which the security personnel stopped him.
Deeply saddened by this, Ravi headed towards a nearby fuel station and bought petrol. Later, he doused himself with petrol and immolated himself right in front of Yash’s residence.
Yash’s fans, passersby and nearby residents rushed towards him and put woolen blanket and water on him.
Ravi, who was severely burnt, was immediately rushed to Victoria Hospital.
Currently, his situation is said to be critical.
