Bengaluru: The Railway Police has arrested a youth from Bhopal over sextortion of a City doctor who later resorted to suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Kengeri in August 2021.
According to sources, the arrested has been identified as Sarthak. The police suspect that he is running a mafia to collect money through sextortion. The accused is still a final year engineering student.
It was on August 13, 2021, that a doctor took his life. Later at the time of investigation, it was found that he was being blackmailed by a gang. Based on this clue, the Railway police formed a special team to investigate the incident.
The police seized mobile phones, laptops and other equipment used by the accused.
