Chamarajanagar: Activists from pro-Kannada organizations expressed their frustration on the 22nd day of the protest regarding the Cauvery river water dispute in Chamarajanagar district, which shares its border with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They criticized the state government for not paying heed to their demands.
Kannada activists, who transported a large bell from the front of Sri Chamarajeshwara Park in Chamarajanagar, positioned it at Sri Bhuvaneswari Circle, and vociferously voiced their grievances against both the State Government and the Cauvery Water Regulatory Authority. They passionately implored the State Government to take immediate action, cease the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, and safeguard the welfare of the state’s farmers.
Protests temporarily led to the suspension of vehicular traffic on the National Highway linking Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, disrupting the flow of vehicles between the two states.
