Early on Tuesday, strong winds, thunder, and heavy rain fell on the districts of Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar.
On Monday night in Mandya city, a big tree branch fell on a car, killing one young person and injuring two more. Around two in the morning, the rain began to fall in the Mysuru district. It went on until the first light of morning, providing relief from the intense heat. There have been reports of power outages and massive tree collapses in Mysuru city. The dead is Karthik (27), from G Bommanahalli village in Mandya taluk. The injured are Sunil and Manju, who are receiving medical attention.
The car’s front end was completely wrecked. For two hours, the CMC staff and police battled to clear the branch. After being saved, the two injured were taken to the hospital. It is reported that Karthik was born on Tuesday, May 7. When the accident happened, he and his companions had gone shopping for clothes.
