CHITRADURGA: Two individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained severe injuries in separate accidents in Chitradurga district on Friday night.
In the first incident, 18-year-old Pallavi from Toranagallu died after the car she was traveling in collided with the retaining wall of a flyover on National Highway-150A. The car then hit a truck coming from the opposite direction near Nagasamudra village in Molkalmuru taluk. Suresh, who was also in the car, was severely injured and has been admitted to a hospital in Ballari for treatment. This incident occurred within the Rampura police limits.
The second incident involved a pedestrian, Mallijarjuna, 52, who was crossing the road near Nulenoour village in Holalkere taluk when he was struck by a speeding truck. CCTV footage shows Mallijarjuna attempting to cross the road with a walking stick before being hit by the truck. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot. A case has been registered at the Chitrahalli police station.
Both accidents highlight the need for increased road safety measures and vigilance to prevent such tragedies.
