The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Karnataka invites applications for the position of Financial Analyst on a contractual basis. This initiative aims to bolster the department’s ability to investigate complex financial crimes and provide strategic insights into cases involving financial fraud, economic offences, and compliance with laws such as the KPIDFE Act, 2004, and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).

Position Details

  • Post: Financial Analyst (Contractual)
  • Organisation: Criminal Investigation Department, Government of Karnataka
  • Tenure: 1 year (extendable based on performance or government policies)
  • Remuneration: ₹1,00,000/- per month (all-inclusive)

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  1. Assist in investigating financial crimes and analyzing violations under the KPIDFE Act and PMLA.
  2. Review Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and liaise with FIU-IND, RBI, SEBI, Income Tax, and other agencies.
  3. Prepare detailed reports for the Superintendent of Police, Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
  4. Follow up with banks for account details and data required for investigations.
  5. Provide administrative support to the Financial Intelligence Unit and report updates to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Economic Offences (DIGP, EO).
  6. Compile quarterly work statements and undertake additional duties assigned by the controlling officer.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (ICWA).
    • Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or Finance & Accounting (M.F.A).
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification is mandatory.
  • Conditions:
    • No prior criminal record.
    • Full-time commitment to the role with adherence to office policies.

Key Terms

  1. Leave Policy: Limited to 10 days of casual leave annually.
  2. Termination: Either party may terminate the contract with a one-month notice or equivalent salary in lieu.
  3. Non-Guarantee Clause: The position does not promise permanent employment or additional allowances.
