Karwar: The Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat visited the Seabird Shipyard of Arga on Tuesday, April 6 to review the progress of the works under Project Seabird.
With Vice Admiral FOC- INC, Western Region R. Harikumar, General Bipin Rawat, arrived in Karwar and was greeted by Rear Admiral Mahesh Singh, Flag Officer of Karnataka.
General Bipin Rawat received information on the progress of development activities at Project Seabird site ‘A’ by the concerned officials. He also received information about the Naval Shipyard’s Transformation and Marine Operations Center.
He observed the Demonstration of Shiplift ability. In addition, he was informed about the work being carried out at Phase 2A and the development of infrastructure in the port. Finally, in the Barakhana, he interacted with Naval officers and sailors of the Karnataka Naval Area.
